Monday Shotgun

Welcome to a new feature in the TheTeeSheet.com called the Shotgun. The Shotgun is your one-stop resource of quirky, sometimes funny, entertaining and bizarre happenings in the world of golf. We read everything here so you don't have too. Whether you want to be on top of everything golf or just don't want to be 'that-guy' in your weekend foursome that hasn't seen the latest YouTube clip, the Shotgun will keep you up to date.

In case you missed it this week, there was an excellent old video released by Trans World Sport about a 14 year-old phenom named Tiger Woods. While it seems obvious now, the simple assumption that he was going to be one of the greatest of all time must have seemed even more precocious (to be kind) at the time. Tiger's comments on race and the posters on his bedroom wall are notable (that seems like Greg Norman over his head and Johnny Miller over his right shoulder and horrible wallpaper all around).

Next via SI.com's Hot Clicks last Thursday, a link to this video showing a guy trying to break the world record for the longest usable golf club.

The Guiness World Records site actually does have a category for Longest Usable Club, which is currenlty only a measly 13'5" so there could be a record on the way for this Michael Furrh. Sure this is a dumb record but the guy has a great handle, Furrh, which seems like an Austin Powers character or maybe a guy that once played for the Green Bay Packers. Once approved, I guess Furrh can join such Guinness world record holders and luminaries such as Ashrita Furman, holder of the record for "Most Golf Balls Picked Up With Feet in One Minute." Alas, no video or pictures of that.
